Jordie
Sea Kayak Guide and Instructor
Courtenay, BC
Kayaking, rock climbing, skiing
Solo from Skagway, Alaska to Lax kw'alaams, Canada

Jordie became interested in the outdoors as a child through the Scouting movement and his nature-loving parents. This led him to venture out and explore local rivers and forests in his home community of Courtenay, BC.   Paddling became a peaceful way for him to relate to nature. Jordie uses paddling as one tool to help people achieve their goals, practice leadership and to engage in life-affirming risk taking. A long distance adventure kayaker Jordie has crossed Dixon Entrance East, Georgia Strait, Juan de Fuca Strait and Queen Charlotte Strait from Cape Caution to God’s Pocket. He has worked as a Sea Kayak Instructor and Guide with Ocean River Sports for 23 years. He is registered with the SKGABC, Paddle Canada, BCU, Slipstreams First Aid and White Water Instructing Association of BC.
