BC Marine Trails Network

BC Marine Trails LogoIf you are thinking of planning a trip on the BC coast, you should check out the BC Marine Trails Network website.  The BCMTN is a non-profit organization dedicated to the design and development of a network of marine access points and campsites and day use areas along the entire BC Coast. This is being done in association with various levels of government, First Nations and other stakeholders in order to ensure continued coastal access by kayak, canoe, and other small, non-motorized and motorized boats.

The BCMTN website offers a number of resources for those wanting to explore the BC coast, the primary item being their map, which is a database of the campsites, access points and day use sites. You can use the search box on the map to find these sites, or you can simply zoom into a area you are intereseted in and find the sites that way. The map is continuously being updated as they negotiate and discuss issues with the various stakeholders. It is an excellent resource for anyone wanting to plan a trip anywhere on the BC coast. If you become a member of BCMTN there are some additional perks available,  including a ruler tool on the map, to help measure and define your paddling trip.
