Building Your Own Kayak has suddenly become easy with Kayak Kits from ‘Made Kayaks’
What is included and what are they?
The Kayak Kits from Made Kayaks allow you to build your own high-quality kayak without hassle or guesswork. All the wooden Frame parts are included and pre-cut from high-end sustainable Baltic Birch plywood. Ballistic Nylon Skin and Polyurethane coating from the Skin Boat Store, the best choice for long-lasting strength/durability, are supplied as part of the kit. Also included are the Deck Straps, Stainless Steel Screws, and parts needed to hold the frame in position while building. Detailed and illustrated instructions come with every kit, and we are even working on some instructional videos to make it that much easier.
These boats offer you the opportunity to experience building your own skin on frame kayak. There are currently two models available: a youth size and an adult size. Imagine spending a few weekends with your son or daughter, or even your grandchild, building their first kayak together. The lightweight materials make these boats a dream both on and off the water. Imagine being able to easily lift your own kayak on and off your vehicle and in and out of the water on your own.

The model currently being carried in the store is called the Squid and is the perfect kayak for a youth paddler or a paddler under 5feet and 110lb. The kayak itself is 12 feet long and 23lbs/10kg. The great thing about this kit is that almost anyone can build it with a few simple tools and a bit of time and patience. Order it online from the online store and get it before the summer paddling starts.
