Freya Hoffmeister – “The North Island

Freya Hoffmeister is a world renowned ocean-paddler who has undertaken two of the worlds greatest times sea kayaking continental circumnavigations and will be striking out once more to circumnavigate North America in 2017.

This trip will be more difficult than her previous two trips combined with a total distance of  50.000 km/ 30.000 miles needing to be paddled. This trip will be motivated by Freya’s new motto  “Never stop starting – Never start stopping!”

Freya’s previous expeditions included record-circumnavigations around South America 2011-2014, Australia 2009, New Zealand South 2007, Iceland 2007 and Ireland 2016. She is the most experienced expedition paddler in the world and has received a range of awards including the “World-Paddle Award”, National Geographic’s “Adventurer of the Year and the “European Adventurer of the Year” Award.

Join Freya before she sets out on a trip that could take 8 to 10 years and listen to her entertain and educate. Learn about her previous two large scale continental circumnavigations : “THINK BIGGER”! – Survived, about her circumnavigation of South America, and “Race around Australia”.
